Media Coverage: “10 South Dakota organizations unify against ‘unnecessary’ ballot initiative bills”

KOTA covered the coalition of South Dakota organizations fighting to defend the ballot initiative process from political attacks.

“There’s a track record of the South Dakota Legislature asking voters, ‘Would you like to make initiatives more difficult?’ And there’s a similar track record of South Dakota voters saying, ‘No, thank you!’ But we shouldn’t have to tolerate this year after year, a sustained attack on the initiative process,” Schweich said. “It’s a solution in search of a problem.”
